Hello,

Yesterday I found BusyRay. I'm very impressed with it!

I digged up an old scene of mine that I had to abandon because it relied too much on self illumination and indirect illumination. It appeared that no renderer could do it justice. Well I have used Mental Ray, POV-Ray, and WinOSi.

BusyRay seems reasonably fast given the circumstances (though I would still need a render-farm to properly animate this scene.)

I like the fact that BusyRay is easily integrated in the 3dsMAX enviroment and it seems very stable. If this software is being actively developed, I will gladly buy it !



Here is another rendering with slight post-processing (and I took the liberty of manually removing the BusyRay logo from this image.)



Here is a comparison between photo and rendering, for those of you who don't know the Star Trek: Voyager TV series.



Obviously I have to work on texture and colours but the light bounces around beautifully!
